orange curd

4 eggs, room temperature * 2 egg yolks, room temp. * 170 g caster sugar * grated zest of one large orange * 185ml fresh orange juice * 125 g. butter

beat eggs+egg yolks together, lightly. add remaing ingredients. on a double boiler over low heat, stir constantly until it thickens significantly and coats the back of a spoon. pour in hot jars. keep in the fridge. i sugest you pick up a book, while you’re stirring, because it takes a while. but it’s so worth it.   : )

4 ovos, à temperatura ambiente * 2 gemas, à temp. amb. * 170 g açúcar * raspa de uma laranja grande * 185 ml sumo de laranja * 125 g manteiga

bater levemente os ovos e as gemas. adicionar os restantes ingredientes. levar a lume brando, em banho maria, mexendo sempre até engrossar significativamente e cobrir as costas de uma colher. deitar em frascos escaldados e conservar no frigorífico uma vez arrefecido. sugiro que peguem num livro enquanto estão a mexer, porque demora um bocadinho. mas vale bem a pena.  : )
